Description

In this lesson, children focus on comparing lengths of time using different units of time. They take part in more practical activities to understand durations of time and use estimation. Children also explore measuring in appropriate units of time for given tasks.
National Curriculum objectives:
Know the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each month, year and leap year
Compare duration of events
Estimate and read time with increasing accuracy to the nearest minute; record and compare time in terms of seconds, minutes and hours; use vocabulary such as o’clock, am/pm, morning, afternoon, noon and midnight
Differentiation:
There are three levels of differentiation in this pack: ‘working towards,’ ‘expected’ and ‘greater depth’.
