This model text is a narrative focusing inspired by a short section of 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. The text focuses on how dialogue can be used to advance the action and exemplifies how the SEAT strategy can be used to add detail to characters' dialogue. It has been written to meet the Year 4 expected standard and comes with two handy annotated versions: one details the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners; whilst the other is features annotations related to the SEAT strategy.
