This editable differentiated lesson pack focuses on identifying and classifying reversible and irreversible changes using evidence. Children compare changes such as melting, dissolving, burning, cooking and chemical reactions, looking closely for clues that show whether a material has stayed the same or become something new. In the main activity, pupils sort clue cards based on the evidence given, then create their own card describing a change for a partner to classify. The lesson strengthens reasoning, builds accurate scientific vocabulary, and helps children justify their decisions using observable evidence. The file includes the following resources: - editable teaching presentation - editable activity sorting cards and table - editable additional activity ideas - editable lesson plan - editable focus assessment worksheet
