This greater depth model text includes a diary entry and informal letter.  A boy writes in his diary about his awful experiences whilst at a residential summer camp.  He also writes and tells a very different version to his Mum to stop her from worrying about him whilst he is there!  It has been written to meet the Year 6 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners.
