Children will reinforce previous learning where children have made and added equal groups. Concrete and pictorial resources are used support children’s learning and help them to recognise the links between repeated addition and multiplication.

 Write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables that they know, including for 2-digit numbers times 1-digit numbers, using mental and progressing to formal written methods
