Children will continue to build on their learning of sharing and grouping and which the question is asking. They will apply this knowledge and divide by 4 through sharing into 4 equal groups and grouping into 4s. To support their understanding, children should use appropriate concrete manipulatives or pictorial representations.

National Curriculum objectives
Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 3, 4 and 8 multiplication tables  Write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables that they know, including for 2-digit numbers times 1-digit numbers, using mental and progressing to formal written methods.
