
In this lesson, children build on the previous lesson by describing the movement of objects around a grid. They will follow instructions to move an object from one place to another using up, down, left and right. They will also learn the importance of understanding the direction an object is facing and how this impacts the movement of an object.
National Curriculum objectives:
Use mathematical vocabulary to describe position, direction and movement, including movement in a straight line and distinguishing between rotation as a turn and in terms of right
angles for quarter, half and three-quarter turns (clockwise and anticlockwise)
Differentiation:
