Description

In this lesson, children will be taught to use the £ and p symbol. They will practise counting different combinations of coins and comparing. Physical resources are advised here, if you have coins, use these to support the children's conceptual understanding. A teaching presentation and differentiated resources with fluency and reasoning activities are available. National Curriculum Objectives:

recognise and use symbols for pounds (£) and pence (p); combine amounts to make a particular value find different combinations of coins that equal the same amounts of money
