In this lesson, children will identify and find lines of symmetry on 2-D shapes of different sizes and orientations. They will also explore the relationship between the number of sides and the number of lines of symmetry in regular polygons. Children may use mirrors, printed shapes to fold and/or tracing paper to support them. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
