In this lesson, children are introduced to do the vocabulary factors and factor pairs for the first time. They will learn that two numbers multiplied together are factors and that the answer these two numbers create is called a product. They will also learn how to recognise factor pairs e.g. 4 and 3 are factors of 12 because 4 x 3 =12
This means that 4 and 3 are a factor pair. There is a teaching presentation and three levels of worksheet (working towards, expected and greater depth) with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem solving questions.
