In this lesson, children build on previous learning on equivalent fractions to find equivalencies to unit fractions. Children use bar models to explore the concept and move into using fractions in their abstract form. They look at the relationship between numerators and denominators to help them find equivalent fractions. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
