
This lesson focuses on the core art skill of developing technique. Children will explore the differences between acrylic and watercolour paint, learning how each material behaves and how colours can be made lighter in different ways. Through practical painting activities and discussion, they will practise brush control, mark-making and colour changes, developing an understanding of how white is used with acrylic paint and water is used with watercolour paint. Children will also learn to follow clear routines for using paint safely and responsibly.
