In this lesson, children will discuss the reasons why the Angles, Saxons and Jutes travelled to and settled in England. Children will study historical sources of evidence from the time to help with their understanding. This lesson concludes with a question for the children to consider, ‘Were the Angles, Saxons and Jutes pushed from their homelands, or pulled to Britain?’
