Description

In this lesson, children will find out who the Vikings were and why they carried out raids in England. The children will learn about the famous raid at Lindisfarne Priory and will deepen their understanding of events surrounding this. The lesson concludes with the children considering the reasons they think the Vikings came to England using historical accounts to support this.

National Curriculum Objective:
Pupils should be taught about the Viking and Anglo-Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England.
