In this lesson, children learn to name the different parts of a circle including: the radius, diameter, centre and circumference.  Children will also understand the link between the radius and diameter, using one to calculate the other.  There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.

National Curriculum Objectives:

Mathematics Year 6: illustrate and name parts of circles, including radius, diameter and circumference and know that the diameter is twice the radius
