Description

This lesson focuses on dividing using flexible partitioning. Children will be taught how to partition numbers in different ways to help them divide. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.

Write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables that they know, including for 2-digit numbers times 1-digit numbers, using mental and progressing to formal written methods
