This resource continues from the last lesson by developing children's understanding of different subtraction questions and how to tackle them. Bar models are used to scaffold in 'how many more' questions. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.

add and subtract one-digit and two-digit numbers to 20, including zero
solve one-step problems that involve addition and subtraction, using concrete objects and pictorial representations, and missing number problems
