In this lesson, children build on their skills at reading and writing numbers in words to do this with larger numbers. They will focus on the structure of the words, using ‘and’ and commas accurately. They will use part-whole models to explore using commas as separators and to support reading and writing of numbers. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.
