This model text is an example of an informal letter written by Frida Kahlo to a friend after a traumatic road traffic accident.  This is a creative writing piece inspired by the real events of her life.  It has been written to meet the Year 6 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners.
