This model text is a set of instructions which explains how to prepare for a Kenyan safari adventure. It has been written to meet the Year 5 expected standard and comes with a handy annotated version detailing the text-type specific features (red), grammar (green), punctuation (purple) and spelling (blue) teaching opportunities should you wish to use this text with your learners.

Writing: Y5/6 : Pupils should be taught to organise paragraphs around a theme. Pupils should be taught to use simple organisational devices in writing.
