This writing activity engages children in their writing. Children roll a dice to generate a picture to inspire their writing about superhero action words. This activity allows children to use their recently introduced language vocabulary as well as their phonics skills.

Form lower-case and capital letters correctly (L)
Spell words by identifying the sounds and then writing the sound with letter/s (L)
Write short sentences with words with known letter-sound correspondences using a capital letter and full stop (L)
Re-read what they have written to check that it makes sense (L)
