In this lesson, children will begin to interpret pie charts by using what they have learned about circles. They will understand how to interpret simple pie charts including finding fractions of amounts and understanding what the whole of the pie chart represents and why this is useful when solving problems. There is a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions.
