This comprehension crusher reading scheme pack includes two non-chronological reports, one describing York and the other a comparison between the River Nile in Egypt and the River Great Ouse in Cambridge. The first non-chronological report, that accompanies the teaching slides, is a detailed text which describes York\u2019s history. It has been written to meet the Year 4 expected standard and comes with three sets of comprehension questions, based on two curriculum content domains (vocabulary and retrieval). The teaching slides provided, along with the questions sets, allow for in depth practice of each individual question type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second model text is also a non-chronological with lots of statistics and facts comparing two different rivers. This text has been written to meet the Year 4 expected standard and is accompanied by one set of comprehension questions, which includes the three styles of question, previously practised. This provides an \u2018unseen\u2019 text and additional questions to practise these same skills independently. The answers to all questions are included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
