In this lesson, children recap on learning from previous years to measure and classify angles as acute, right, obtuse and reflex. They use their understanding of classifying to help them check their measurements and whether they can used the right scale.. This lesson includes a teaching presentation accompanied by differentiated activities with a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, as well as 3 sets of extra fluency questions.

National curriculum objectives

Recognise angles where they meet at a point, are on a straight line, or are vertically opposite, and find missing angles
Draw given angles, and measure them in degrees (°) (recap from Year 5)
Know angles are measured in degrees: estimate and compare acute, obtuse and reflex angles (recap from Year 5)
